Any authors and readers who’ve checked out Kindle Fire Dept.’s blog and Facebook page will know that they not only have the latest great books, Kindle Fire apps, and games, but they’re also very professional and super fab to deal with. So I was honoured recently when they asked me to contribute to their new book about marketing for authors E-Book Marketing Today – An Author’s Guide. Along with some really helpful and fantastic info, there are also contributions from other authors…
About the book…
In an increasingly competitive e-book market, authors who understand how social media and online promotional techniques work have a distinct advantage. E-Book Marketing Today features the inside scoop on advertising from one of the biggest e-book promoters, extensive research into the tools and techniques authors are using to reach readers online, and marketing tips from a number of best-selling and up-and-coming authors who all together have sold well over 1,000,000 copies.
It’s available on Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk.

I wish I had more time to spend reading all those books out there on marketing. Another twenty-four hours in the day should do it, or failing that, a clone! But this is one that I would definitely recommend you get your hands on.
It’s your turn out in WG2E land! Which marketing books would you recommend? Have you used any unusual techniques to gain readers and sales?

Great entry. I hopped right over to Amazon.com and bought myself a copy, based on the strength of what I read.
Fab, Steve, I hope it’s helpful
Thank Sibel – purchased and tweeted that I did!
Fabulous – thanks for sharing!
great promo info, thanks! i hadn’t even heard of the kindle fire dept!
thanks again
You’re very welcome. They’re very professional to deal with and many authors have had great results with sponsorship over there
Grabbed a copy! Thank you so much
Personally, I really enjoy connecting with bloggers and readers. I welcome emails from anyone interested in indie publishing and writing — and am happy to help out (as best I can) aspiring novelists and other indie authors. On blog tours, I try to respond to every single post … I’ve learned a lot about likes/dislikes and made some really great connections with people all over the world.
I’m a big proponent of saying Thank YOU to anyone who buys my book. Time is a precious commodity, and I’m grateful to everyone who devotes several hours to reading one of my novels. The concept of paying it forward is a big one for me.
xx, Lauren Clark
My pleasure!
Absolutely spot on, Lauren! Paying it forward is what it’s all about as you’ll see when you read my contribution to the book
I bought this one after seeing it here this morning. Great, I now have something about publishing to read. I had run out the other day. I do like to read a bit of non-fiction then fiction on my Kindle. Can’t wait to get started reading this later.
Hope it’s helpful for you, Julie
Thanks, Sibel. I hadn’t heard about that blog or the book. Going to check both out right now
Great stuff – glad to be of help
Thanks for the heads up! Zoomed over and got a copy!
You’re sooooo welcome!
Just got my copy too, Sibel! Sounds fabulous!
U Go, Girl!!!
Wunderbar!
Thanks for the info, just clicked through and bought myself a copy. It will be the 4th book on marketing ebooks I’ve read, but I’m about to put out my first ebook after being traditionally published with my first 2 novels, and feel I need all the help I can get.
What other ones did you read, Rachel? Were they helpful?
Congrats on yet another novel! Wishing you lots of luck
I read Kristen Lamb’s We Are Not Alone, John Locke’s How I Sold 1 Million eBooks in 5 Months, and Michael Alvear’s Make a Killing on Kindle (plus countless wise and funny writers and marketers blogs). I found all 3 books incredibly helpful, even though Alvear’s book contradicts a lot of the wisdom in the first 2. I feel overwhelmed at the moment, particularly by the idea of Twitter, but I have to keep telling myself it’s one step at a time–the same way we write books, one paragraph at a time.
Thanks for the heads-up, Sibel! Off to check it out.
A pleasure, Talli! Hope you find it useful
Always happy to hear from Sibel!!
Oh, bless you, Pj! Thanks so much
Just purchased my copy as well. Always looking to learn more on the marketing side.
Thanks, Sibel.
Great stuff, DD. Hope it’s helpful
And there’s a fab review of it here: http://stevevernonstoryteller.wordpress.com/2012/07/11/e-book-marketing-today-an-authors-guide/
Just got my copy, too. Thanks for the info!
You’re very welcome indeed, Rhonda, thanks
I bought it awhile back, and find it really helpful. Love your contribution, Sibel. You’re a very pay-it-forward sort of Indie
Oh, thanks so much, Toni! So glad it was helpful for you. I try!
