Here’s the scoop on our latest WG2E Anthology:

With this Spooky, Halloween-themed Anthology, you’ll never think of Halloween in quite the same way.

In this Fifth Edition of The WG2E All-For-Indies Anthologies, you’re treated to a terrific, one-of-a-kind approach to the anthology concept.

You’ll get a variety of genres and story-lengths all packaged together as a wonderful way to discover some of today’s hottest new authors!

Plus, each WG2E Anthology is based on a different theme.

In this WG2E Spooky Shorts Edition, you’re getting short stories that yes, have a spooky, Halloween element, but you’ll never think of spooky or Halloween in quite the same way.

For example:

“Think one crazy aunt cooking up a cauldron full of trouble…it’s spell-casting gone awry and Voodoo Doll Hell” for D. D. Scott & David Slegg’s STUCK WITH A SPELL

“The future can be a frightening place, even for those with special powers” for PJ Sharon’s REDEMPTION

“Is Creepy Mouse Guy really a creep?” for Lois Lavrisa’s TREAT OR TRICK

“Sometimes, it’s not the undead who are truly scary” for Patricia (P.R.) Mason’s NOT A SPARKLE IN SIGHT

About the Authors:

All the authors in the WG2E All-For-Indies Anthologies are regular contributors to The WG2E site. At The WG2E, it’s all about writers helping writers reach readers with great books for great prices. It’s all genres and all story-lengths, from just a couple of pages to novel-length too!

I luuuvvv that, Sibel….muwahahahahahaha right back atchya! And thanks for the sweet shout-out!!! :-)

  4. Tamara Ward says:

Two anthologies in one month! It’s spooktacular! The first ebook anthology I participated in was the WG2E Winter Wonderland anthology. Participating in it opened my eyes, and it taught me a lot about e-publishing and encouraged me to write (and publish) more short stories. My latest story is in the Tales from the Mist anthology. Working together with enthusiastic and talented authors is such a pleasure!

    • D.D. Scott says:

      Excellent points, Tamara!

Participating in Anthologies is a terrific way to get in front of audiences who would otherwise never find you, especially if the collection features different genres simply organized around a central theme.

As a reader, I find a bunch of authors I’d never have found otherwise because I used to not read their genres. But after reading them in our anthologies, and liking their stories, I’ve gone on to read more by those authors and other authors in these new genres (for me) too! :-)

  5. PJ Sharon says:

Thanks D.D. for allowing me to be a part of this edition of your All for Indies Anthologies. It was fun stretching my writing muscles and producing this short story. SOUL REDEMPTION gives a peek into the tortured heart and soul of a thirteen-year-old boy who has been genetically engineered to kill with just a touch. Zeph is the younger brother of Lily Carmichael, my main character in WANING MOON, Book One in The Chronicles of Lily Carmichael Trilogy. Although Zeph is an integral character in the trilogy, the first person narrative POV of Lily didn’t allow me to really get into the head of her tormented little brother, so when you asked for a creepy short story, I figured it doesn’t get much creepier than a 13 year-old struggling with hormones, self-control, and a growing addiction to sucking the life energy out of the town’s people his sister is set on protecting and healing. I look forward to hearing what others think of the story, and I’m honored to be among such wonderful writers! Thanks again:-)

    • D.D. Scott says:

U betchya, PJ! I’m thrilled to be partnering with you!!!

Participating in anthologies and short story collections is also, as you said, a wonderful way to stretch your writing muscles.

Short story formats help you make sure every word counts. Also, for me, they’ve really helped me learn to “trim the fat,” so to speak, and keep my pace going strong.

  6. Julie Day says:

Sounds like a really good ebook to read. I would love to be part of the new anthologies, to expand my readers and genres. Shall have to wait and see what happens. Will watch out for announcements.

  7. Lots of spooky reading to do! Congrats to all!

  8. I just read Spooky Shorts last night and loved it! Thanks for giving TALES FROM THE MIST a shout out D.D. You rock! Working on this anthology has helped me learn so much. It’s been a great experience and I couldn’t have asked for better people to work with. :-)

  9. Congratulations! It looks wonderful, and I plan on picking one up.

I’d love to be considered for one of your future anthologies. Please keep me in mind! :)

    Happy (early) Halloween!

    • D.D. Scott says:

Excellent, Riley! Be sure to get involved in our WG2E Street Team as that’s where you’ll get all the scoop on future anthologies!!!

Thanks sooo much for the sweet shout-out!

  10. Jeanne says:

I’ve already downloaded this on my Kindle……looking forward to reading these short stories…..sound great!

  11. I’m a total sucker for scary, short stories! One of my faves since I was a kid have always been scary story collections/anthologies. I feel just like a kid this week treating myself to both WG2E Spooky Shorts & Tales from the Mist. Thanks! And Happy Halloween!

    • D.D. Scott says:

Happy Halloween right backatchya, Maria!!! And Happy Reading too!

Would you believe that I’m just now getting into scary stories, and I must say, I’m luuuvvvin’ ‘em too!!! I’m really starting to add to my library in those genres!!! And I probably wouldn’t have unless I’d wanted to read my fabulous co-authors and fellow WG2E-Land authors!!!

  12. Matthew Rush says:

    Hells, yeah!

  13. Lauren Clark says:

Happy Halloween!! No tricks … Just treats!
