D.D. Scott has produced our WG2E Anthologies in the past and welcomed all of you to take part in them. As you can imagine – and I just found out recently myself – these collections take a lot of time and tons of hard work.
Our most recent release: The Summer Fling Edition
On Amazon , Nook, Kobo, and Smashwords
With everything else D.D. is doing, she’s discovered she just doesn’t have time to continue these. Personally, I can’t imagine when she finds time to sleep with all she does. But, she has assured me she does.
The WG2E Street Team recently banded together and started working on our own anthology for release October 17th. Just in time for Halloween. When D.D. found out about it, she asked that we continue doing anthologies for WG2E.
We were thrilled she trusted us enough to ask us to take on this project and immediately came up with a list of imprint names. D.D. chose The WG2E Street Team Publications.
After the WG2E All-for-Indies October and December 2012 anthologies already planned, D.D. will no longer be taking submissions for stories. Instead the Street Team will announce submission dates here and at our website, along with the theme we’ll be working on for a particular book, throughout the year.
We’re still working everything out, so please check our website and facebook page for more details in the near future.
I am looking forward to helping out with this new endeavor for the WG2E Street Team and from the comments it sounds like my co-members are equally enthusiastic. I am so blessed to have all of these wonderful people to do projects with. They’re awesome to work with and there’s a huge amount of collective knowledge within the group. It’s like a very supportive family and I appreciate each and every one of them.
And before I close, I just want to take time to say: Thank you D.D. for all you do!
It’s Your Turn, WG2E-Land: What about you? Have you ever worked with a team putting an anthology together? What has your experience been like?

Wow, Rhonda!
If you ever want a Vampyre steamy short let me know
Will do, Christine! Love your work!
It’s hard work, honey. You’re doing a great job!
Isn’t Rhonda and the entire Street Team just doing A-mazing things, CC?! I always enjoy seeing what they’re up to next!
And what I luuuvvv about our Anthologies is that all genres are included and genre mash-ups too! So steamy vampyres work!!!
Thank you! I’m not doing it alone. Thank goodness!
I haven’t worked with other writers to bring together an anthology, but I’ve heard from other writers that it’s a lot of work.
All the best to you in this project.
Thank you, Diane!
It is a ton of work to organize ‘em, but it’s pretty easy for the peeps just sending in their stories! LOL!
So, I’d highly recommend participating, Diane! It’s truly a wonderful way to build your reader base wider (which I’ll talk about in my post here tomorrow).
Thanks, D.D., for the idea for the anthologies and thanks, Rhonda, for spearheading the anthologies moving forward. Both of you are amazing writers and women!
Thank you, Tamara! I love working with you!
U betchya, Tamara!
Nothin’ beats writers helping writers reach readers…and anthologies are superfab fun ways to achieve both!!!
And thanks sooo very much for the sweet shout-out!
Our WG2E Street Team is going to totally rock our anthologies! If one of your goals is to keep your “Also Bought” streams continuously changing-up with new authors, which means you’re now attracting new reader bases, then anthologies are the way to go!
That’s why I’ve done six of them for us (by the end of 2012).
They’re not money makers, although they do seem to be picking up sales steam now. ***Note: I think we did them before readers really knew what they were in the Ereading World.
Their purpose is to introduce your work to new readers who might not find you otherwise. For example, a reader may buy an anthology because they really enjoy one of the authors, but then learn they like several of the other authors in the collection too and go on to buy their books.
I consider them a fantastic promotional tool!
I agree! It’s definitely a great promotional tool. I’ve found new authors that I love from anthologies. Thanks so much for all your support, D.D.!
Sure thing, Rhonda! And THANK U for taking over this part of our WG2E Street Team!!! U are totally rockin’ it!!!
Thanks, D.D.!
Thank you, DD, for your hard work so far. I love the name of the new publisher. I can’t wait to see what is chosen for anthologies next year, and hopefully be part of one or two.
I’m looking forward to it as well, Julie. We’ll be coming up with theme ideas soon.
Wavin’ atchya, Julie! And I can’t wait to see what Rhonda and Team come up with too!!!
This is great news, and I’m really looking forward to the anthology as well as submitting for the new ones. I agree with D.D., it’s great exposure.
Looking forward to working with you, Stacy!
Cheers to anthologies being “great exposure,” Stacy!!!
Thanks to D.D. for starting this endeavor and for seeing it through. Thanks to you, Rhonda, for taking on another project. I look forward to reading the anthologies.
The Street Team members will all be working together on the books, like we have with our current October project. Since everyone has different strengths and knowledge it helps to make sure everything is covered. It’s great working with everyone.
Excellent points, Rhonda!!!
And you’re sooo welcome, Christy!
I do think that Anthologies are slowly catching on with Ereaders, many of whom had never heard of them in the TradiPub World either, according to our RG2E Peeps.
Hi Rhonda! I am having a blast working on the anthology with you all – and I look forward to doing more next year.
Great post!
~Cate
Me too, Cate! I love working with all of you. You guys with more experience are life savers. It’s great to have the collective knowledge of the group.
Does this mean the Martini Madness Anthology, with stories due on Oct 15th, has been cancelled? I do understand overload. Just asking so I know what to do with my story.
Martini Madness is still happening, Anne! Send the story in to D.D. That will be the last anthology she does.
Thanks for jumping in, Alicia! U rock!
Wavin’ atchya, Anne! No worries about Martini Madness (and the Spooky Short Halloween Edition too)…both will continue as scheduled with me at the helm! I committed to 6 Editions this year, and will meet that commitment with gusto!
The Street Team will then take over for 2013 as well as do the Halloween Edition for the Beach Book Blast Peeps too!
Thanks, Alicia and D. D.!
I’m having such fun with the Halloween Anthology! I’m looking forward to helping you with the future ones. Thank you, Rhonda and D.D. for all that you do. Hugs xxxx
U betchya, Natalie! And we’re thrilled you’ve joined us!!!
You guys are the BOMB
))))
Thank you, Natalie! I appreciate all you do as well!
As I always say – thanks Super Rhonda (the new superhero in town)
)
Ha! Not even close. I don’t even have a cape. Which is probably a good thing since I’d trip over it! LOL
Trendy superheroes don’t use capes.
))
Thanks, Rhonda and D.D.! I think the WG2E anthologies have been wonderful from the beginning, and I know the team anthology committee is doing a great job so far. I also agree, Rhonda — the core members working together on all the team events are just plain awesome, a supportive cyber-family I am so grateful to have.
It is all about creating a community of writers helping writers reach readers, Alicia! Cheers to that!!!
Me too, Alicia. I’m very grateful to have all of you to work with not only on the anthologies but just in general. You guys rock!
Again, who do I write to so I can find out what’s happened to Martini Madness? Does anybody know if it has been cancelled or if the Street team is taking over and publishing the planned anthologies, or if they are starting new anthologies? I don’t know how to get this information.
Just answered your question above, Anne!
Martini Madness will continue as planned with me at the helm! So, I’ll be looking for your story in my email inbox on or before October 15th!
Thanks, D.D. I’m so relieved! I know how overload feels, so I’d understand if you couldn’t do it, but I’ve been looking forward to being in an anthology with so many great indie authors!
No worries, my friend!!! Cheers!!!
Like Rhonda, I don’t know when you sleep either, DD, but I definitely appreciate everything you do and have done for indie authors. I love these anthologies and was so happy to be included in the Valentine edition. You rock!
Rhonda, thanks for sharing this terrific news!
You’re welcome, Sheila! I’m looking forward to working with you and the rest of the Street Team on future anthologies.
You are indeed sooo very welcome, Sheila! I just luuuvvv partnering with all of you in our fabulous WG2E Anthologies!!!
