Here’s a fabulous way for many of you here in WG2E-Land (with print copies of your Ebooks) to Pay It Forward, and thanks sooo much to WG2E-Land Peep, DV Berkom, for sharing this scoop!!!
Take it away, DV…
Several print copies of my books are on their way to New York City as part of the effort to restock libraries destroyed by Hurricane Sandy. BAD TRAFFICK, SERIAL DATE and the KATE JONES THRILLER SERIES have been shipped after being vetted by Indie Authors for Hurricane Sandy Libraries, a group established in November 2012 by author K. S. Brooks.
There are over seventy authors from all over the world participating in the group and over 200 books have already been received by libraries in need in the tri-state area of Connecticut, New Jersey and New York.
“This is a great opportunity to connect libraries in need to authors willing to donate books. We work closely with the library systems to make certain they receive the genres they need,” says group founder K. S. Brooks.
The author absorbs all related costs (shipping, cost of books) and is responsible for getting their books to the libraries in need.

DV Berkom is no stranger to reading and writing fast-paced, exciting stories. Having grown up on a steady diet of spy novels, James Bond movies and mysteries, her natural inclination is to keep the reader on the edge of their seats and guessing until the last page.
She grew up in the Midwest, received her BA in Political Science from the University of Minnesota and promptly moved to Mexico to live on a sailboat. Several years and at least a dozen moves later, she now lives outside of Seattle, Washington with her sweetheart Mark, an ex-chef-turned-contractor, and writes whenever she gets a chance.

What a great idea! I’m up for it
Exactly what I thought, Sibel! I love the fact that I’m doing something to help the folks in that area. Libraries have a special place in my heart
DV, what a terrific cause.! This sounds like a great place to send non-fiction works as well. I’m on my way to offer copies of my print book “Wisdom of the Toga: Mythic Patterns That Shape Our Lives”.
Awesome news, Monica!
Wonderful post, DV! Thanks so much for sharing this. Great to see you here at WG2E.
You’re welcome, and it’s great to be here. WG2E is one of my must-reads
Great idea!
I sent a letter to my local library system to see if they wanted to lend my book, but I never heard back from them. I guess this is like sending a query letter, but without the formal rejection response.
Keep trying, Gail! Just because one library didn’t answer doesn’t mean another won’t. Persistence is key
Thanks for stopping by!
Just joined the group and offered my non-fiction and fiction title as both are available in print. See if I get any requests. Unfortunately, the response I’ve always gotten from LOCAL libraries, much less ones far away, has been not much better than the response you get when you walk into a Barnes & Noble when you tell them you are self-published (even when you tell them you have good reviews). Most only want hardcover books. But thank you for posting this link.
