Who and What Is Coming To The WG2E in 2012!!!

Happy Weekend, WG2E-Land!!!

Oh Boy Oh Boy Oh Boy…WooHooooo…

Or as one famous rabbit would say:

White Rabbit:  Why, Mary Ann! What are you doing out here?

Alice:  Mary Ann?

White Rabbit: Don’t just do something, stand there… Uh… no no! Go go! Go get my gloves! I’m late!

Alice: But late for what? That’s just what I…

White Rabbit: My gloves!
[Blows trumpet]

White Rabbit: At once, do you hear!

So with our white gloves on, trumpets blowing, and no time to spare…well I suppose the time really isn’t an issue, since we’re not whimsical white hares with clocks to dare…

Okay…anyhoo…

Here’s the scoop on Who’s Coming To The WG2E in 2012!!!

First off, you met him this past Wednesday when he was our guest

And he kinda looks like this:

Okay…I know…quite the subtle hint…being as his name is under the picture…LOL!

But yes, please give Bestselling Canadian Author Gordon Kirkland a huge ol’ WG2E Wavin’ Atchya Welcome…and stick your hands up high. He’s North of The Border, you know, so he may have a tough time seeing us clear down here.

Gordon will be our new “3rd Friday of the Month” Guy!!!

Oh, he’s actually starting here on December 16th with a superfab Get-To-Know-Gordon Post!!!

I can’t wait!!!  The guy cracks me up, has some of the best book titles out there, and I think is one of the funniest guys on the planet!!!  Plus, he’s superfab savvy on all-things Indie Epublishing too!!!

Check out these book titles:

Justice Is Blind – And Her Dog Just Peed In My Cornflakes

Never Stand Behind a Loaded Horse

When My Mind Wanders, It Brings Back Souvenirs

The Plight Before Christmas

Now then…Who Else Is Coming To The WG2E in 2012?!

Here’s another not-so-subtle hint:

I LOVE MY KINDLE

That’s right…the one-and-only Everything-Amazon and Kindle-Guru…

Bufo Calvin of the I LOVE MY KINDLE (ILMK) Blog!!!

As y’all know from many of my ILMK shout-outs here on The WG2E, I rely on Bufo and his superfab blog for my scoop on what’s happening with Kindle and Amazon.

Bufo is now bringing his knowledge right here to The WG2E!!!

Bufo will be our “Second Saturday of the Month” Guy!!!

Why? Because he luuuvvvs the alliteration of Second Saturday.  I’m not kidding…that’s what he told me, along with a Star Trek Spock quote having to do with how over the moon he is to be joining us!!!

Okay…so here’s The New WG2E Posting Schedule:

Mondays:  D. D. Scott

Tuesdays: Talli Roland (Super T-2)

Wednesdays: 1st – Scott Nicholson; 2nd – Sibel Hodge; 3rd and 4th – D. D., Tonya or Guests

Thursdays: Tonya Kappes (Super T)

Fridays: 1st, 2nd & 4th – Tonya, D. D. or Guests; 3rd – Gordon Kirkland

Saturdays: 1st – D. D. or Guest; 2nd – Bufo Calvin; 3rd – The Edit Dude; 4th – D. D. or Guest

Sundays: Mark Williams

So there’s the “Who”…now for the What’s Coming To The WG2E in 2012!!!

Super T Tonya and I will be totally re-creating each of the resource pages here on The WG2E to reflect the most up-to-date scoop in the Indie Epub World.

For starters, we’re going to create a very special page to pay it forward even more…

WG2E-Land Friends

We’re sooo very thankful to all of you WG2E-land Peeps who not only visit us and cuss and discuss the Indie Epub Issues each and every day, but also those of you who have added our WG2E Button/Logo to your sites!!!

We’ve gotten all your emails and think we have the technical issues resolved so that we can now begin posting links back to all of you and your wonderful sites!!!

***Note:  To make sure we’ve got a current list…if you want to be included, please leave your website links in our comments section (one link per comment or our lovely Spam Filter will suck you in).

That’s it for now…but here’s one final hint as to what else is comin’ soon to The WG2E…

Tons More Superfab Stuff…to be announced soon!!!

It’s Your Turn, WG2E-Land: Tell us what all you’d like to see in our new WG2E Resources Pages as well as leave links to the sites of yours you’d like us to link to…and remember, just one link per comment or you’ll be dealing with Mr. Spam Filter, who can be rather ornery at times…

The Best of The WG2E Wishes — D. D. Scott

P.S.  One more thing…please keep those nominations coming to help make The WG2E one of the Top 10 Blogs For Writers (Deadline: December 10th).  See Tonya’s post from yesterday for all the detailsand thanks beyond bunches to all of you who’ve now posted your nominations on the site doing this!!!

Just a quick note too regarding all of your superfab share-the-button requests to reciprocate…

That’s exactly why we are creating this wonderful new WG2E-Land Friend’s Page.

Till three-quarters of the way through the year, we were not receiving your requests made when you emailed the site. (That’s what I meant by “technical difficulties”.)

We are getting those emails now, although we haven’t been able to recover the previous emails sent.

So please hang in there with us, and we’ll get this next Pay It Forward Page in motion!

    • Ref: We are getting those emails now, although we haven’t been able to recover the previous emails sent.

Ahh…that explains why I never heard from you when I emailed and asked about truncated posts.

      I’ll try again this weekend.

      Thanks.

      • Tonya Kappes says:

GREAT, Maria! It was a mess! We had the hardest time trying to retrieve those emails. Now we have it all set up and working GREAT!!! Please send your link and we will have it put up on our FRIENDS OF WG2E page:))

      • D. D. Scott says:

        Wavin’ atchya, Maria!

Yes…please re-send your emails…like Super T said, I think we finally figured out how to begin receiving those emails, although we have no idea what we’ve previously received.

  9. Tonya Kappes says:

2011 was a test run for WG! Now I’m excited to bring bigger and better contributors and content to help continue on the way the electronic revolution is headed. I’ll be excited to see what is going to happen with epublishing, self publishing, small publishing, and how big publishing is going to react to all of it. 2012 is the year of the INDIE!

    • D. D. Scott says:

      I sooo agree, Super T!

And I can’t wait to see what our new WG2E Team Members bring to our site…as well as all the superfab new Site Pages you and I are creating!!!

2012 is gonna be another rockin’ year on The WG2E!!!

  10. Jamie S. says:

    2012 is lookin’ good!
OMG! Hide your beer! We’ve got a visitor from the “great state of Canada” on board! Just kiddin’ Gordon! Having lived in the Pacific NW and sailing I’ve spent a lot time in the Canadian San Juan Islands not to mention Victoria and Vancouver. And then there are all my mother’s Canadian relatives in Ontario… the stories I could tell about the time when the U.S. had prohibition and liquor was available in Canada!
In all seriousness it’ll be great to have you and your humor. Your titles do crack me up!

    • D. D. Scott says:

Oooo…I can’t wait to hear some of these stories!!!

And aren’t Gordon’s titles just a stitch, Jamie?!

He’s gonna bring an entirely new kinda quirky-fab fun to The WG2E!!!

    • Don’t worry about your beer. We have a saying here in Canada that American beer is like making love on a beech… It’s f**king near water.

When we approached Costco about carrying my books they said that with my last name I might “offend their brand.” I pointed out that selling Kirkland Signature beer made by the Gordon brewing company offended my brand. It was fine when they started out with Kirkland coffee. I was a little nonplussed to see Kirkland toilet paper (and now coffins!), but beer? Really. We have to teach you all about beer from Quebec wih it’s 14% alcohol. Mind you a couple of bottles tend to make it hard to write!

  11. This is a great site. You all are doing a wonderful job. I’ve stuck your button on my blog.
    http://tyhutchinson.wordpress.com/

    • D. D. Scott says:

      Thanks sooo much, Ty!

We’re thrilled to have you here and you’re for sure on our WG2E Friends List!

      Cheers!

Btw, I’m reading your Chop Suey now and luuuvvvin’ it!!!

  12. Exciting news! Should make WG2E even more fun and informative.

Funny you should mention the button. I’ve got the WG2E button sitting on my desktop because I’m in the process of building my new blogsite and definitely want to link to my fave site!
(Muse sister Sheila Seabrook is helping my techno-challenged brain get through the process!)

So please include me in your list – http://aliciastreet-roystreet.com

  13. 2012 sounds like it’s going to be an amazing year. :)
I’d love it if I might have my site added.
    http://abbeymacinnis.com
I’ll add your button to my blog and to my site too. :)
Thank you all so much for all of your time and dedication to this blog. :)

  14. Alison Pensy says:

Exciting stuff! You are constantly finding ways to keep the blog fresh. Thank you for all your hard work.

    • D.D. Scott says:

That’s exactly what we’re up to, Alison…keeping The WG2E content and Pay It Forward spirit fresh, innovative, exciting and fun too!

      Cheers to that!!!

  15. Alison Pensy says:

Okay, I’m probably being completely blonde (I’m blondish, I can say that :-) ). I couldn’t figure out how to send you an email, I tried before but now it looks like you didn’t get it, so I’ll mention it here.

I think a post on preparing for taxes would be very important (for our US authors). In the US, revenue from royalties must go on a schedule C. As soon as an author starts making money from their books it is treated as a business and many authors may not know what they can and can’t write off on their taxes, or the records they need to keep incase of an audit, etc.etc.

I would be happy to help with this.

    • D.D. Scott says:

      Ooooo…that’s a superfab idea, Alison!!!!!!!!!!

And you are a tax preparer, right?!

      Wonderful!!! And in-house expert!!!

Can you believe I actually think filling out the Schedule C is fun?! No joke…I do!!!

Email me at dd(dot)scott(at)live(dot)com , and I’ll get you scheduled to be our WG2E Guest!!!

Btw, my email is where all our “To The Editor” emails now go…so feel free – any of you – to email me anytime you have questions or post ideas!!!

  16. Oops. Think my first comment got caught in your spam folder. I sent in my web link in the comment because I’m posting your button on my almost finished site. So, I’ll just say — you go guys! Look forward to an exciting Indie year ahead.

  17. Link to my blog: Hope this works. I’m having computer problems today, too. http://annerallen,blogspot.com Thanks!

  18. D. D. Scott says:

    Ooooo…and one other thing…

For those of you with Kindles, you can subscribe to The WG2E right on your Kindle!!!

These are full posts, not content summaries…so you can get the latest posts sent right to your Kindle each and every day for just 99 Cents per month!!!

    Here’s the scoop:

    http://www.amazon.com/Writers-Guide-Publishing/dp/B005A8LVL4/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1322938954&sr=8-5

And now with the Kindle Fire, I’m going to try and see how commenting works via the Kindle Fire too! (***Note: The WG2E’s newest Team Member Bufo Calvin will be a great resource for all the how-to’s…in fact…he just wrote a book on all the Kindle Fire How-To’s!!!***)

  19. DV Berkom says:

Great idea, ladies! I’d love it if you’d link to my website: http://www.dvberkom.com . I’m doing updates this afternoon, so will plant that WG2E button as soon as I can!
    Thanks!
    DV

  20. D. D. Scott says:

If y’all have buttons too…email ‘em to me at dd(dot)scott(at)live(dot)com and we’ll include those images too on our new Friends of WG2E Page!

You can begin to check out our new page now as we’re beginning to build it!!!

It’s right along the top bar on our home page!!!

    Cheers!!!

  21. Please include me! You are one of the saviest blogs I keep up with. My link is http://www.nancy-jill.blogspot.com. Thanks!

  22. I’m trying to add your button to my site right now but having a wee bit of difficulty. Not sure why. While I try to figure it out, I’d love to be added to your friends page.

    We’re rockin’ now!

  29. Bufo Calvin says:

D.D, I’m excited and honored to be joining you, Tonya, and the rest of the team at WG2E!

I look forward to writing for and hearing from your audiences of writers. That’s a fascinating group of people…well, for fiction writers, each individual one of them is a group of people. :)

Just to give your readers a hint, I plan to use my first post this Saturday both to introduce myself (at your suggestion), and to write about a season-appropriate topic that will give authors a recently-improved way to promote their works, as well as making their friends and family happy. Nothing like setting the bar low for the first attempt, right? ;) Seriously, I think WG2Ers will get something out of it.

Thank you again for this opportunity!

    • D. D. Scott says:

What a total hoot of a first angle for your inaugural WG2E Post, Bufo…what you said right here, Friend, cracked me up but damn is it (and its reverse) true:

“…a season-appropriate topic that will give authors a recently-improved way to promote their works, as well as making their friends and family happy. Nothing like setting the bar low for the first attempt, right?”

And sometimes, speaking as a Writer’s Go-To-Gal for Muse Therapy, it’s our friends and family that are the toughest to please…so any way you got to make that a bit easier, we’re all ears…right WG2E-Land?

Welcome To Our WG2E Team, Bufo!!!
